ENDING GUIDE

Cupid endings guide: what decides your ending

Your ending in Cupid is not decided by one choice on the last day. It depends on whether you confessed on day 4, how high your affinity was at that point, and who you made plans with before that. This page explains the structure and leaves the scenes out.

Endings split three ways

The first fork is the day-4 confession.

  • Your confession is accepted: you get the student-route ending of whoever you confessed to (Seoyeon, Yuna or Dain). Four tiers apply, depending on affinity.
  • You hold off and confess on day 5: with affinity of 50 or more you get the "belated confession" good ending. Below that, the confession is turned down.
  • You only wait: the story usually ends with you staying friends.

A few branches override this flow. If your plans with several people collide and you get caught, you go to a separate ending no matter what your affinity is. The same goes for reaching the last day with several tangled relationships you never sorted out. If none of the conditions apply, the default is walking home alone.

Student routes have four tiers

These tiers only apply if your day-4 confession was accepted and you were not caught double-booking. Even with the same person, the mood of the final scene changes quite a bit with how much affinity you built.

Affinity comes from choices and free talk

The fixed choices alone cannot add up to the 100 points a PERFECT ending needs. If you are aiming for PERFECT, you also have to earn points in free talk. The rules are covered in the free talk guide.

Spending time with one person can leave another feeling left out, and that can cost affinity. If you split your time evenly through day 3, it is hard to get close to anyone. Deciding early who you want to focus on makes endings easier to reach.

Hidden routes: the homeroom teacher and the school nurse

These start from the day-1 after-school choice to visit the teachers' office or the nurse's office. One visit is not enough. You need to keep making the right choices over the following days. The affinity tiers are the same as for the student routes.

Because both characters are teachers, the story keeps a professional line while you are still at school. The closer endings are set years later, when the two meet again as adults.

A sensible order for collecting endings

  • Play the first run without a guide. An ending you did not aim for is still the result of that run.
  • From the second run, changing who you eat lunch with makes the biggest difference.
  • Starting a new game deletes the progress currently saved. Start over after you have seen an ending.
  • The gallery on the title screen shows the endings and CGs you have seen so far.

If visual novels are new to you, read the beginner guide (Korean). The English game page has the full language menu.

Frequently asked questions

How many endings are there?

Three student routes and two hidden routes each have four tiers. Add the belated confession, rejected confession, friend, alone, double-booking and unresolved-relationships endings, and there are more than twenty.

What do I need for the PERFECT ending?

Your day-4 confession must be accepted and your affinity must be 100, with no record of being caught double-booking or leaving several relationships unresolved.

Can I see several endings in one playthrough?

One run leads to one ending. To see the others, start a new run and change your choices.
